Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a free trial?

No free tier. There is also no subscription - you pay in advance for as many months as you like, and the balance simply runs down.

What if I want to stop?

Stop topping up. The group stays online until the balance runs out, then goes offline without anything being deleted. Export your data whenever you like - it is all yours.

What happens when the balance runs out?

We warn the organisers well before it does, and there is a grace period after that. Only then does the site stop answering, and nothing is deleted - a top-up brings it straight back.

What is the difference between runtime and a contribution?

Runtime is what keeps a group site online, at a fixed monthly rate. A contribution is optional, buys supporter badge time, and funds open source development - it does not keep anything online.

Do my members have to pay?

No. Members and event attendees are always free. You pay per group as the organizer.

Can I use my own domain?

Yes, custom domain support is included - there is only one set of features.

Can I self-host instead?

Yes. The app is EUPL open source - free to self-host, modify, and contribute to.
